Principal Instructional Technologist (Promotional Opportunity Only) in UMass Lowell

The Principal Instructional Technologist is a technical staff member of the Information Technology Department providing support and oversight for all areas of academic technology on campus. As the subject matter expert in educational technology, this position is the lead architect of the university’s use of Instructional Technology tools. Under the direction of their manager, the Principal Instructional Technologist actively participates in long- range goal planning and objectives. Additionally, this position will be a significant contributor to identifying emerging academic technologies, their value to the university, and implementation planning. This is a lead Instructional Technology role and requires an individual with exemplary customer service skills and a comprehensive knowledge of the academic technology landscape. This role is the primary interface to the academic community as it relates to academic technology. This position requires significant project work with no supervision and a thorough understanding of project timelines and deliverables.

Research Associate in Mechanical Engineering – Condition Monitoring and Computer Vision in UMass Lowell
The successful applicant will conduct analytical and experimental research in the areas of Nondestructive evaluation and Condition Monitoring with an emphasis on the development of computer vision and machine learning-enhanced techniques for damage detection, data acquisition, and system monitoring for energy systems (e.g., wind, solar, hydrogen). The successful candidate will also assist in writing scholarly articles and research proposals, help to manage and educate graduate or undergraduate students, and assist in the successful operation of the laboratories and facilities. The initial appointment will be for 1 year with the possibility of renewal based on productivity and performance and the availability of funding.
