General Summary of Position:

We are a highly collaborative group at the Center of Biomedical and Health Research in Data Sciences (CHORDS) at University of Massachusetts Lowell seeking a biomedical data scientist (PhD level).  In this position, you will use neural networks, SQL, Python, R and work with diverse cutting-edge health records data and genomics data.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Education:

  • PhD in a computational or quantitative field

Experience:

  • Experience with both the computational and mathematical side of machine learning models.

Skills:

  • Communication, critical thinking.
  • Able to translate research questions into computational representations of the ideas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of high school biology, interest in learning basics of biology

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Only current UML Employees within the Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit will be considered during the first 10 business days of the posting. All other candidates will be considered after that period.

This position is full-time, benefited and in the Grants & Contracts union in grade P18. Salary anticipated up to $85,000 with formal range minimum: $72,170 with 25th quartile: $82,093 and midpoint of $92,017. This position is contingent upon funding.
