General Summary of Position:

The Senior Identity and Access Management Analyst is a technical staff member of the Information Security organization supporting mission-critical IT applications, business processes, and infrastructure services provided by the Information Technology department.

Under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer, the Sr. Information Systems Analyst will collaborate with university business stakeholders at UML and across UMass to develop and implement Identity and Access Management capabilities that enable the full lifecycle management of UMass Lowell account identities, credentials, and entitlements in accordance with stakeholder and security, privacy, and compliance requirements. This position provides day-to-day operational technical leadership and has primary responsibility for the IAM function within the information security team at UMass Lowell. This position may provide technical supervision for contracted support resources, junior staff or student workers.

Requires an individual with strong knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) requirements; in depth understanding of data security and academic business operations; and competence with compliance-related laws, regulations and audit requirements.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Math/Business, 5-7 years’ related or specialized IAM experience. 

  • In depth knowledge of security, privacy, audit and compliance requirements applicable to IAM in higher education (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, etc.)

  • Well-versed in IAM principles and policy, such as segregation of duties analysis, access reviews, provisioning/de-provisioning, authorization and authentication protocols, and access governance

  • Hands-on experience PeopleSoft Administration tools, Oracle Identity Management Suite, eSignature software tools. Working knowledge of Active Directory, including security group structures and policies

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to prepare and deliver information security procedures, standards, and guidelines to a technical and non-technical audience

  • Ability to work in a team environment, take direction and guidance, prioritize, and meet deadlines for wide-ranging technical projects
  • Ability to plan and independently manage projects of medium complexity and university-wide scope.

  • Ability to use a combination of independent research, experience, testing, and escalation to efficiently balance the most appropriate and cost effective solution

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a positive, services-oriented manner

  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise application security administration tools and IdM application suites

  • Knowledge of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions and technologies

Additional Considerations:

  • Hands-on experience PeopleSoft Administration tools, Oracle Identity Management Suite, eSignature software tools
  • Knowledge of Critical Security Controls
  • Knowledge of authentication protocols such as Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, SAML desired; knowledge of asset management products; familiarity with GenAI tools such as Chatgpt and Copilot; ability to write, test and safely utilize code for bulk actions
  • Prior IT operations experience in higher education environment
  • ITIL Foundations Certification

This position is full-time, benefited and SEIU union in grade P19. Anticipated salary based on experience within range. Minimum $77,885, 25th quartile $82,093 and midpoint $101,251.
