General Summary of Position:

This being an internal opportunity, only current UML Employees, irrespective of Bargaining units are eligible to apply for this position.

The Associate Director, Media/AV Hospitality & Event Services provides high quality customer service in a professional manner through technical support and coordination for all events on campus as assigned. The position is responsible for ensuring successful media and audio visual (A/V) and sound support for both internal and external clients. This position is directly responsible for generating revenue during the summer months; focused on intern housing. The position includes responsibility for department marketing and sales efforts. This position also includes direct oversite of summer conference operations

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 years of experience in AV & event management; however, will except candidates with HS diploma or GED/equivalent and some college with 7-10 years of experience in AV & event management.

Skills:

  • High degree of professionalism in internal and external experience with basic sound equipment, experience with sales, experience overseeing intern housing and summer conference operations, strategic planning, customer service, event enhancements, experience managing diverse staff and students, presentation technology, computers, and basis networking.

Additional Considerations:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, especially PPT and Word
  • Working knowledge of Allen & Heath Qu-16 mixer is preferred
  • Knowledge of classroom and meeting space technologies including LCD projectors and flat screens, connectivity adapters and computer output settings
  • Knowledge of lighting instruments such as pin and uplights preferred
  • Ability to configure and connect to desktop video conferencing portals
  • Knowledge of 25Live schedule system preferred
  • Ability to coordinate with external vendors as appropriate
  • Valid Driver’s license required

This is a benefited, full-time union position (SEIU) in grade P17. Formal salary range is: $65,693 with 25th quartile of $74,725 and midpoint of $83,758.
