General Summary of Position:

  • Responsible for assisting the University in maintaining compliance with various Federal, State and Local regulations pertaining to environmental, occupational, educational, and public health/safety programs.
  • The role includes a variety of tasks as assigned over the year, including:
  • The inspection of various safety equipment; including emergency showers, eyewash stations, oil skimmers, and fume hoods.
  • Updating risk cards, delivering supplies to labs, and posting EHS notices.
  • Providing support with EHS programs including mold assessments, odor concerns, and general troubleshooting to support faculty. 
  • Maintain simple records, such as Safety Data Sheets.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp objects between 10 and 30 lbs often.
  • Ability to move heavy objects using proper tools, equipment, and PPE.
  • Ability to be on their feet and moving often.

Additional Considerations:

  • Self starter and goal orientated.
  • Able to work harmoniously with Administration, Faculty, Staff and Students
