General Summary of Position:
The successful applicant will configure, maintain and build applications on augmented and virtual reality systems and neuromorphic vision sensors with particular focus on health and biomedical topics. The candidate will lead an effort in embedding these applications as on-line modules for high-school, undergraduate and graduate education and research activities at UML and partnering institutions. The candidate will develop training material and conduct workshops on developing applications for faculty and students, utilizing AR/VR equipment and associated software platforms.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Experience:
- Doctoral degree obtained from a qualified university in the field of study
- Good track record of professional, education and research experience.
Skills:
- Strong background in computing, signal processing and knowledge of engineering physics
- Experience in algorithm development/implementation on GPU based machines.
Additional Considerations:
- Ability to work independently, with limited direction, as well as within a team environment
- Ability to mentor and inspire students with limited research experience
- Good communication skills for delivering technical matter to non-technical audiences

This position is contingent upon funding. The initial appointment will be for five months with a possibility of renewal based on productivity, performance and the availability of funding.
