General Summary of Position:

This being an internal opportunity, only current UML Employees, irrespective of Bargaining units are eligible to apply for this position.

The Salesforce Developer in the Office of Information Technology works closely with the Director of Enterprise Applications and collaboratively with the Enterprise Applications team to design, develop, implement and administer Salesforce solutions for the entire UMass Lowell campus. The principal function of this job is to implement and support large scale, enterprise-class solutions on Salesforce and the associated ecosystem.  The Salesforce Developer delivers best practice technical solutions in support of business requirements. This role will involve a mix of custom development, system integration, and platform configuration to meet campus needs. 

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or systems
  • Salesforce Platform Developer Certification
  • Salesforce AI Specialist Certification
  • 2+ years of experience building and maintaining custom Salesforce Lightning UX applications/solutions
  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency automating Salesforce using declarative force.com functionality such as flow and flow builder
  • Fluency with Salesforce development concepts (Visualforce, Apex Classes, Triggers, Javascript, Workflows, Web Service calls.)
  • Experience implementing and using Salesforce Education Data Architecture (EDA)
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality
  • A lifelong learner with demonstrated ability to understand new technologies and apply knowledge to deliver software solutions that support business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively and collaboratively

Customer Relations:

  • Sponsors, Core Team and End Users of the Salesforce solution. 
  • Enterprise Applications team and entire Information Technology staff
  • Higher Education Salesforce customers
  • Vendors (Salesforce, DellBoomi, FormAssembly, ScheduleOnce, sfApex, GearSet, and more)
  • UMass Information Technology System (UITS) applications and developer resources.
  • UMass system peers/colleagues working on similar projects or technologies.

Managerial Skills:

  • Prioritizing the multitude of operational tasks, project requests, and identified issues is critical to job success.
  • Problem solving is an essential skill.  Position needs to identify problems and get the best solutions using all available resources.
  • Planning is necessary to ensure tasks are completed according to defined expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building and implementing Salesforce GenAI/ Einstein / Agentforce
  • Salesforce Certification in Education Cloud
  • Salesforce Certifications in Architecture
  • Salesforce Administrator and Advanced Administrator
  • Experience using Salesforce partner products including DellBoomi, DemandTools, sfApex, FormAssembly, GearSet, RollupHelper, ConfigWorkbook, Beaufort Integrations, Qualtrics Integration and ScheduleOnce
  • 2+ years integrating data efficiently into Salesforce and a thorough understanding of integration concepts, methodologies, and technologies including ETL tools
