Director, Laboratory Systems - Facilities 523114 Facilities Operations&Services
This position reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Facilities Management and will work closely with leadership under the Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation. This position will serve as the primary liaison with researchers, Environmental Health & Safety, and Facilities to develop and manage programs and processes for successful research operations, efficient space utilization, and effective equipment and lab system maintenance on the UMass Lowell campus. They will coordinate a range of maintenance and service support activities for laboratory and research spaces, lab equipment, and connected building systems. They will blend their technical knowledge of facilities, research and lab safety with strong interpersonal skills to build a collaborative and synergistic environment and maintenance program for research facilities that supports ongoing growth of the research mission of the university.
Director of Planning & Facilities Information Systems 522686 Project Management & Planning
The Facilities Management Department provides comprehensive planning and overall management for all aspects of the facilities and infrastructure of UMass Lowell. The FM Department includes: planning, program management, capital budgeting, project management, energy and sustainability programs, facility operations, maintenance and service, real estate, facility information systems and business administration. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Management, this position is responsible for directing and overseeing all daily operations for campus planning and Facilities Information Systems to align with and support campus development goals. As the Director of the Planning and Facilities Information Systems, this position is responsible for ensuring continuity, consistency, and quality of planning services delivered across the campus as well as information services for Facilities Management and other campus stakeholders. This individual will work closely with community and government partners, consultants, and internal stakeholders--including faculty, staff, students and senior administration--to implement the University’s strategic campus and master planning goals. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires its institutions of higher education to prepare long-range plans to determine future needs and guide development of capital outlay for buildings, facilities, land needs, and services. This position provides senior support and assistance to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Management to ensure compliance with this mandate and ensure the effective and efficient operation of the university’s overall planning program.

The Assistant Director of Capital Projects will provide leadership and administrative support to the entire capital projects group within Facilities Management’s Planning, Design, and Construction (PD&C) department. As a member of the PD&C leadership team, the Assistant Director of Capital Projects will assist the Director of Capital Projects to develop, update, and implement standards and procedures to ensure continuity and consistency of project delivery, perform administrative tasks for the capital program, mentor staff and help cultivate collegial and collaborative working relationships between all members of the campus community. The Assistant Director of Capital Projects will serve as the primary supervisor to assigned project management staff and will provide support and assistance as needed for delivering all projects on time, in budget and aligned with campus strategies and initiatives. Associate Director, Multicultural Affairs 522430 Multicultural Affairs
The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is the hub for intercultural advancement, diversity, community development, and inclusion efforts at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The office serves as a resource on topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). OMA promotes student development and leadership; enhances student success and retention; and facilitates a respectful, diverse, and inclusive campus. OMA provides educational programs, student group advising, direct student support, advocacy, and student wellbeing and engagement activities. Programs and services encourage identity exploration, community building, as well as cultural competency development. This office collaborates across units to establish meaningful campus and community involvement in building and supporting an inclusive culture and environment, as well as providing training and outreach to target populations. The Associate Director will assist in advancing the mission, goals, and strategies of OMA such as increasing the access, retention and success of diverse students. Responsibilities include program development & execution of multicultural cohort experiences under the umbrellas of Rising 360 and College Access programs, which includes support of International, LGBTQ+, students of color, first generation, transfers, and other diverse students. Director, The Solution Center (Internal Only) 523031 Solution Center

In addition, the Solution Center plays a key role in admissions events and in supporting newly accepted students as it relates to financial aid and facilitating financial planning sessions for new students as part of the on-boarding process. The Solution Center creates a culture of student service by assisting students with professional staff uniquely trained to render full-service assistance and excellent customer care using the university’s CRM implementation achieving the university’s enrollment goals, establishing and building a service team to improve retention of existing students, and helping the team to adopt and implement industry best practices and to use the university CRM to drive best results.  The Director will be responsible for providing leadership and full management of The Solution Center. The Director will work with the associate director to hire, train and supervise professional and support staff responsible for delivering quality student service. The River Hawk Scholars Academy (RHSA) Associate Director leads the academic programs, curriculum development, & experiential learning efforts within RHSA. One primary responsibility of this position is to partner with academic departments and faculty to create innovative, technology-enhanced, equity-driven curricular and co-curricular experiences for the first-generation college students in RHSA. A second primary responsibility is to teach at least three RHSA-designated courses per year – including experiential learning courses (such as study abroad).
