Research Grants & Awards Specialist for Center for Advanced Materials, HEROES Initiative and Fabric Discovery Center 499679 Plastics Engineering
HEROES (Harnessing Emerging Research Opportunities to Empower Soldiers) is a unique collaborative research and development initiative between UMass Lowell and the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Soldier Center in Natick MA. The role of the Research Grants and Awards Specialist is to facilitate coordination of collaborative research and development activities at the HEROES Initiative, the Center for Advanced Materials (CAM), and Fabric Discovery Center (FDC) through preparation of pre-award budgets and proposal submission activities, as well as post-award management, i.e., tracking impact and adherence to milestones in funded projects. The position will primarily facilitate preparation of budgets (pre-award) for faculty members associated with these centers, and other external partners including industry, while interfacing closely with the Office of Research Administration at UML. More broadly, the position involves implementing the strategic vision of the CAM, HEROES and FDC by assisting in proposal preparation, project review, and tracking progress as well as providing feedback to faculty members & external partners.

Incumbents of positions in this series maintain buildings and related structures applying carpentry techniques and using carpentry tools to construct, alter, repair and/or install walls, stairs, floors, ceilings, windows, doors, roofs , etc., inspect buildings to determine need for carpentry to be done; erect and dismantle staging and scaffolding; and perform related work as required. The basic purpose of this work is to perform carpentry maintenance work in support of general maintenance, repair and/or alteration of state buildings and related structures.
Senior Enrollment Analyst 502083 CE-Administration
The Senior Enrollment Analyst is the lead data analyst for the division of Online, Graduate, and Professional Studies. The analyst is responsible for developing, gathering, and presenting data metrics for the division as well as establishing enrollment and program profile information, and enrollment analyses. The Senior Enrollment Analyst supports a fast-paced unit and will be involved in analyzing data from the entire student journey (prospect/lead through graduation). S/he enables graduate and undergraduate teams to set effective strategies in marketing and recruitment areas by analyzing the campaigns against defined KPI’s, and helps the division improve student services by providing various analyses including retention analyses. The Analyst collaborates closely with colleagues across the University to gather, understand, and analyze institutional data to support decision-making within the division. Core functions of the position include: establishing and maintaining data metrics for the division, data analysis, marketing/recruitment analysis, and reporting.

Postdoctoral Research Associate - Accreting Pulsars 501129 Space Sci. & Tech. (LoCSST)
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at UMass Lowell Center for Space Science and Technology, to work on Accreting Pulsars, with Drs. Silas Laycock and Dimitris Christodoulou. The successful applicant will develop codes to model X-ray pulse profiles as a way to infer the structure of the accretion flow, and explore the time evolution of pulsar magnetospheres. They will also identify and reduce X-ray observations to augment the group’s library of pulse-profiles in ways that meaningfully extend our parameter space. This will include processing archival data from XMM-Newton, NuSTAR, Swift, Chandra, as well as proposing for new observations.
