General Summary of Position:

An Admissions Counselor for Regional Recruitment (Mid-Atlantic) is primarily responsible for recruitment of prospective undergraduate students in an assigned geographic region that will enhance the recruitment efforts of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. General admissions responsibilities include effective management of territory through customer service including customer service relationship management software, conducting in-person and/or virtual school visits, admission-related workshops, parent/student programming, college fairs, information sessions, panel discussions, webinars, planning and hosting recruitment events. The Admissions Counselor for Regional Recruitment will also be responsible for evaluating and summarizing applications for admission.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus student leadership and/or higher education experience. 
  • Willingness to work and succeed outside of a conventional workweek that includes extensive travel (approximately 12-16 weeks in the fall and 8-12 weeks in the spring, as well as frequent virtual recruitment opportunities throughout the year).
  • Frequent weekend and evening hours required.
  • Ability to critically read and analyze applications for admission.
  • A valid driver’s license and personally owned, reliable transportation is required.
  • A professionally appropriate remote work setting is required. 
  • The candidate is required to live within a commutable distance to a strategically important metropolitan suburban market (e.g. Long Island, Northern NJ, Suburban Philadelphia) as defined and approved by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Additional Considerations:

  • Proven ability to perform and thrive both independently and as a contributing member of a team is essential. Demonstrated ability to recruit in a variety of communities is preferred. Experience with recruitment and management of a territory is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual candidates preferred. Spanish speaking candidates preferred. Portuguese speaking candidates preferred.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This is a SEIU 888 Professional Union position, Grade P14.
