General Summary of Position:

The Program Academic Advisor position is a full time one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on continued funding and job performance.  The position will work with faculty in the development and implementation of a new educational program in public health informatics and technology.  The position will serve as the primary liaison with undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the program and in networking to recruit new students.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):


  • Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in a health-related field or Bachelor's plus 2 year experience working in a higher education setting


  • Fluency in oral and written English
  • Excellent communication skills including writing, oral presentation, and facilitation of meetings
  • Willingness to engage in public speaking about the program
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including good skills with Excel
  • Strong intrapersonal skills and ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds

Additional Considerations:

  • Familiarity with public health informatics technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to orally present the program during interactions with people from diverse backgrounds will be critical

This is a Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit position, Grade P15.

This position is contingent upon funding.  The position is initially for one-year with the possibility of renewal based on continued funding and job performance.
