HEROES is a unique collaborative research and development center between UMass Lowell and the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC). HEROES drives interdisciplinary technological development for improved protection, sustainability and effectiveness of the American warfighters. This initiative is located on campus where UMass Lowell faculty and students and DEVCOM SC scientists and engineers work side by side and share laboratory space. HEROES projects are organized in six major thrust areas: unmanned aerial systems, thermal.
