General Summary of Position:

This being an internal opportunity, only current UML Employees, irrespective of Bargaining units are eligible to apply for this position.

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applicants for a full-time position at the rank of Visiting Lecturer to begin AY 25-26. The person filling this position will teach four sections of Introduction to Ethics on campus in Fall and Spring semesters (with the possibility of an additional section taught online as an overload in Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters), and will be involved in service and outreach activities including actively participating in continuing efforts to improve the department’s educational mission. The successful candidate will have a strong competence in teaching introductory ethics courses and have demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • A graduate degree (e.g. MA) from an accredited university in philosophy
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching to a diverse student body
  • Commitment to service at the department, university, and community levels
