General Summary of Position:

The Project & Contracts Coordinator coordinates key initiatives for the VCRI office including the processing of all Research Assistant contracts, student grant fellowships, symposiums and internal seed grants.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):


  • Bachelor’s Degree


  • Five (5) years working in an administrative capacity, preferably in a university setting
  • Familiarity with sponsored grant projects


  • Must have proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must have the ability to plan and organize with exceptional attention to detail skills
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with problem solving skills

Additional Considerations:

  • Demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft, Summit
  • Experience with data analysis, record keeping and some business management
  • Flexibility and eagerness to learn new things
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work with faculty and staff from different departments
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Capability to communicate professionally with a broad range of external and internal people
  • Ability to work on multiple, diverse tasks and to troubleshoot and solve “customer problems” in a timely manner
  • Requires discretion in handling confidential information
