General Summary of Position:
The ZCHS Clinical Placement and Student Success Coordinators represent the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences in securing clinical nursing placements. The Coordinators works in partnership to assure all Nursing students are supported in their clinical education experiences. In addition, the Coordinators facilitate the CORI background check process in the College and support student success initiatives. These are full-time, benefited positions.
Essential Job Duties:
Coordinate with the Chair, Program Directors, and clinical partners to secure clinical placements for nursing students.
Coordinate all clinical placements for SSON nursing students.
Communicate and consult with faculty regarding current and proposed clinical placements.
Every semester, contact clinical partner agencies, preceptors, and alumni to complete a questionnaire regarding continued or new interest in providing clinical placement opportunities for SSON students for the following semester.
Inform students of placement; provide preceptor contact information and answer all student questions related to placement.
Maintain effective communications with faculty and clinical affiliates:
Attend program meetings when necessary and invited.
Communicate with potential and existing affiliating agencies and education coordinators to initiate clinical placements and preceptorships for students.
Communicate with Program Directors regarding changes in clinical sites.
Recommend potential new sites to the Program Directors.
Maintain efficient and effective documentation and reporting processes associated with clinical placements in Nursing. Maintain expertise regarding CDC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements that pertain to students and faculty in clinical sites.
Initiate and execute affiliation agreements/contracts with clinical sites, including renewals.
Maintain records associated with clinical placements for students, faculty, and clinical sites.
Facilitate the CORI process in ZCHS.
Provide verification for all CORI background checks for SSON students and clinical faculty members.
Provide support to the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences by:
Provide information for compilation of reports, surveys, and accreditation applications.
Maintain records of clinical supervisors for all programs. Provide tuition vouchers as appropriate.
Assist with data analytics to support efficient course scheduling and student success indicators, such as retention and graduation rates.
Support student recruitment and admissions events, including but not limited to: Open House, Welcome Day, Junior Review Day, etc. Attend off-campus recruitment events as needed.
Assist in the development and execution of student success initiatives and activities.

Working Conditions:
Position requires confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations, occasional work on evenings and weekends, off site travel for attendance at meetings and to healthcare facilities and organizations

Will consult with supervisor as needed.
Complexity:
Responsible for complex communication and problem solving to maintain positive working relationships with a variety of contacts (including high level executives) both within and outside of the University.
Must possess a solid understanding of healthcare organizational structure, health sciences education and practice.
Judgment is required in applying guidelines, policies and procedures.
Work requires interpretation of information and policies and procedures may be created and/or recommended.
Internal/External Communication:
Extremely high level of contact with clinical facilities and organizations and government agencies.
Regular contact with faculty, staff, and students.
Special Skills:
The ability to work effectively with diverse groups and advocate for diversity and inclusion.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Bachelor’s degree with a major in business administration, education, health or a related field and 5-7 years of related experience
Will consider candidates with an Associate’s degree or equivalent education and 7-9 years of experience
Additional Considerations:
Master’s degree in a Health or other field desired
Experience in healthcare/licensed healthcare provider
Must be detail oriented and highly organized
Demonstrated negotiation and organizational skills
Demonstrated computer skills with word processing, spreadsheet and data based systems; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access desirable
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of clinical and community partners, including, CEOs, Directors of Nursing, community based partners, hospital staff, state agencies, co-workers and students.
