Position Description: Perform a variety of functions designed to recruit and enroll qualified first-year and transfer undergraduate international students, focusing on China, to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Ensure activities are consistent with the University’s Mission Statement and strategy of the Office of Enrollment Management. Oversee a network of agents in strategic enrollment markets to ensure performance related to the goals and objectives of enrollment management. Counsel prospective international students and their families as well as relevant professionals and faculty in executing the responsibilities of the position. Perform a range of duties to gather, manage, and evaluate data to make informed decisions pertaining to the admission of prospective first-year and transfer international students, as well as to produce relevant reports on International Admissions activities. In conjunction with University Marketing and Undergraduate Admission be responsible for international marketing and recruiting of students, assist with completing applications, making admission decisions, and establishing collaborations with high schools, colleges, government agencies, and private partnerships, as well as further developing existing relationships. Follow the University’s best practices to build and support student academic success and retention and assist in meeting strategic objectives for persistence and timely graduation of the student population. Will oversee a budget of $100,000. Position is fixed and based in Dartmouth, MA; however, telecommuting from a home office 1 day per week is allowed. 50% international travel to China, Korea, Nepal, Kuwait, Dubai UAE, and Oman to attend Higher Education Expo/Summits, visit multiple schools for recruiting purposes, and meet with recruiting third party agents. Must be fluent in Mandarin.
Required Experience/Skills: Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in International Business, Marketing, Business, Management, or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience in international admissions. Must be fluent in Mandarin.
Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Recruiting students in higher education with a focus on overseas international recruitment.
- Collaboration in the formation of internal and external partnerships.
- Marketing University programs.
- Composing and validating articulation contracts/agreements.
- Experience with academic merit aid determination, award, and collegiate application decisions.
- Experience with immigration documentation for collegiate learners.
- Utilizing CRM Software, including SLATE in a collegiate environment.
- Managing subordinates and budgets with multiple components.
