Job Summary

The Office of Faculty Development is seeking a digital project assistant to provide creative and technical video editing and website support to the Communications & Events Manager and office staff. Duties will primarily include editing filmed content to create informational videos and supporting web edits to host videos and associated resources.  

The Office of Faculty Development serves as a centralized resource for all faculty at all career stages to ensure long-term career success. Throughout the year, OFD holds workshops, conducts analysis and reports, and provides resources in support of faculty career advancement, onboarding, research and creative work, scholarly writing, mentoring, work-life integration, community engagement, and leadership skills.

 

Essential Functions

  • Create short professional, high-quality, informational videos on topics of relevance for faculty career development to post on OFD website.
  • Conduct editing with pre-recorded video materials.
  • Assist in publicizing videos through emails, website, social media.
  • Provide website editing assistance and creating web pages.

 

Other Functions

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of OFD communications.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience in creating online videos.
  • Strong visual, writing, and editing skills.
  • Consistently able to track and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Skilled at working independently as well as part of a team, including self-direction and keeping team members updated on tasks.
  • Experience with relevant video, website, and project management technologies and software.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing.
  • Familiarity with Drupal for website management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Asana for project management.
  • Experience with virtual meeting software.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment.

 

Additional Details

  • 12-month, temporary non-benefitted appointment.
  • This is a hybrid or remote position.

 

Work Schedule

  • 15-hours per week, Variable schedule.
  • This is a temporary, non-benefited position.

 

Salary Information

  • $26.00/hr.
