      Director of Facilities - Daniel J. Riccio Jr. College of Engineering in UMass Amherst

      The Director of Facilities for the Daniel J. Riccio Jr. College of Engineering is responsible for daily functions related to project management and facility operations of the College’s building, including the Sustainable Engineering Laboratories (SEL) and for various facilities within the Riccio College of Engineering. The position will heavily rely on multi-faceted communications to coordinate resources, expertise and services efficiently and effectively to continuously support a complex research, teaching and outreach operation. The Director works closely with the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, Planning and Operations with a dotted line to the Assistant Dean of Administration and Finance,  in developing, planning, designing and executing projects in partnership with the University’s various departments including Design and Construction Management, Physical Plant, Environmental Health and Safety, and Disability Services to insure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of approximately of all laboratory, office and classroom spaces on the Amherst campus.

Riccio Jr. College of Engineering.  This position oversees business, fiscal operations for academic, research, and outreach activities in the Riccio College of Engineering’s Dean’s Office.  The Director provides leadership, training and direct supervision of departmental personnel and participates in department policy development and implementation.

      Early College Academic Success Coach in UMass Boston

      The Academic Success Coach works with Early College students, potential and enrolled, using asset-based educational, cultural, and linguistic frameworks, to provide support to students from their initial transition to the program, through graduation. The Academic Success Coach will also provide support to Early College graduates who transition and enroll at UMass Boston, and will ensure high-quality, comprehensive advising sessions through educational approaches that promote equity, transformational practice, and academic literacy to guarantee the successful retention of the students served. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, working with a specific caseload of students to assist them in navigating academic and non-academic issues as well as connecting them to other appropriate resources and services on campus or at their high school. The Academic Success Coach will work closely with the Senior Director of Programs and Partnerships to develop holistic support and curriculum for participants and evaluate the success of the program towards the goal of continuous improvement.

      The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor to pursue a teaching and research program focused on Biology Education and/or pedagogy in science. The position will begin September 1, 2026. We will prioritize candidates who are committed to improving student success in the first years of undergraduate study. The faculty member will focus on teaching and/or leading instructional teams in our core first-year General Biology courses. They will also stimulate the development of pedagogical models that can be adapted for other courses, establish an externally funded research program, direct the research of graduate and undergraduate students, and interact with a dynamic group of biologists in research areas ranging from molecular and cellular biology to ecology and evolution. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree and relevant postdoctoral research or teaching experience. Commitment to excellence in teaching and to applying innovative pedagogical approaches is expected.
