Postdoctoral Research Associate - Experimental Nuclear Physics 525686 Physics and Applied Physics
The Nuclear Physics group at the University of Massachusetts Lowell has an immediate Postdoctoral opening to help exploit new opportunities in experimental research both at major national user facilities and at our on-campus Radiation Laboratory. The current research in the group is focused on fundamental nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics, as well as in detector R&D and applied nuclear science using emerging scintillators and segmented HPGe detectors. The University of Massachusetts Lowell recently received through the U.S. Department of Education, the Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) grant, which aims to mitigate AAPI students’ barriers to educational achievement by enhancing institutional programs and services. The AANAPISI Program Assistant is a temporary, part-time, non-benefitted position working 18 hours a week. This role will be responsible for assisting in coordinating outreach and recruitment efforts to AAPI students, promote UMass Lowell’s AANAPISI program, and supports the mission and goals of the AANAPISI five-year grant funded program.  The aim is to increase AAPI college degree attainment and overall student success. The AANAPISI Program Assistant collaborates with the Project Director, Program Coordinators, and campus partners to implement educational programs, provide culturally appropriate direct services to the AACEE student cohort program such as personal, cultural support and collaborate on facilitating career preparedness, student wellbeing and wellness, financial awareness & literacy, and identity development topics. The New England Consortium (TNEC) is currently seeking a Worker Health Educator (WHE) for its Hazardous Waste Worker/Emergency Responder (ER) Health and Safety (H&S) Training Program based at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML) in the historic Wannalancit Mills Building.
