General Summary of Position:

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Under the leadership of Dr. Jennifer Fish, our lab investigates molecular and cellular mechanisms of developmental disorders. We are looking to expand our work in neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically focusing on SATB2 function in neuro development and disease. New projects will involve patient derived iPSCs, Drosophila models, and single cell sequencing. Experience in any of the following areas: iPSC culturing and differentiation, Drosophila genetics, neurogenesis, and/or single cell gene expression analyses is desired.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Education:

• PhD in biology or related discipline

Experience (any of the following):

• Cell culture
• RNA-seq data analysis
• Neurogenesis
• Drosophila genetics

Skills:

• Communication, organization, and time-management
• Ability to work independently (prioritize and multi-task)
• Proven ability to collaborate as part of a team

Additional Considerations:

• Flexible schedule that allows evening or weekend hours, based on experimental need

Preferred Qualifications:

• performing molecular biology experiments (e.g., qPCR, immunostaining)

This is a Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit position.

This position is contingent upon funding.  The initial appointment will be for one year with a possibility of renewal based on productivity, successful performance and the availability of funding.
