General Summary of Position:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for several full-time Teaching Professors. The existing Mechanical Engineering program is expanding and new Industrial Engineering undergraduate and graduate programs are starting. Successful candidates will be expected to begin work in September, 2020 and assist in teaching a range of ME and IE courses. In addition to delivering high-quality teaching of courses, the Teaching Professors are also expected to provide service to the university.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Teaching Professors are required to have a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or closely related disciplines by the start of employment to be considered

Additional Considerations:

  • College-level teaching experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to speak and write English clearly
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and diverse populations
