General Summary of Position:

Coordinator of Pre-Med and Pre-Health Programs will oversee the Pre-Health Professions Programs Advising for undergraduates seeking further education in Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Dentistry, Optometry, Podiatry, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant, and Nurse Practitioner.  The coordinator will be responsible for outreach to students from the recruitment stages to submission of their applications and preparing for interviews. S/He will coordinate across colleges to convene faculty steering committees, provide workshops and professional development for students, and establish timelines and “to do” lists.  This person will also arrange for mock interviews, coordinate preparation courses for the required exams that are necessary for admission to some of these programs, assemble recommendation packets, all with the goal of insuring that the student is prepared and his/her application is completed one time and in the required format.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelors’ degree required with 1- 3 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters’ preferred
  • Experience working in Higher Education preferred
  • Experience working with graduate programs and graduate admissions desired  
  • Demonstrated success in initiating and supporting partnerships across the university and between institutions of higher education
  • Administrative experience in organizing high-level events, meetings, etc.
  • Excellent written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Infrequent evening or early morning meetings during the work week. Attendance at and participation in Admissions events, some of which may take place on a Saturday and/or Sunday and evenings. Occasional travel to community colleges, plus local and national pre-Health Professions Advisors meetings and workshops.   

This is a temporary, part-time, non-benefited, non-unit position.
