Grounds Operations Manager 504251 Facilities Operations&Services
The Grounds Operations Manager is responsible for the overall appearance and care of 175 acres of urban University grounds.  This care covers lawn spaces, landscaping, tree maintenance, turf maintenance, recreational and intercollegiate field preparation, and campus infrastructure such as roads, sidewalks, parking lots and parking garage maintenance.  They will be responsible for managing, coordinating, directing, and supervising a Grounds Staff of 10; managing the financial budget for the grounds department; and instruction and training of employees in equipment usage and safety.  The position also conducts studies and makes recommendations regarding new grounds equipment and operational procedures.   This position also has lead oversight of the University after-hours and regular hours snow removal and inclement weather response, and motor pool operations for 80+ vehicles and 15 pieces of department equipment. The Grounds Operations Manager is also an active participant in key university activities such as commencement and opening of school.
Equipment & Laboratory Manager - Fabric Discovery Center 503788 Plastics Engineering
The Fabric Discovery Center at the University Massachusetts Lowell is seeking an Equipment & Laboratory Manager to provide technical and operational support to UMass Lowell Faculty, Students and Post-doctoral fellows, and industrial partners in identifying the appropriate fabrication equipment/processes and maintaining fabrication and testing equipment in the area of advanced functional fibers and flexible electronics. More specifically, the Equipment & Laboratory Manager will a) operate and train users on textile equipment such as weaving and knitting, run plastics processing equipment, coating lines (roll-to-roll (RTR) and wire coating line) b) prepare standard operating procedures for operating, calibrating and maintaining fabrication and testing equipment, and train internal and external users, troubleshoot and carry out preventive maintenance of equipment located at the Center and c) maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners that will support the growth of the Fabric Discovery Center.

The Executive Director, Technology Commercialization and Venture Development is responsible for the development and implementation of strategy and initiatives that will serve to advance the commercialization of innovation and technologies created by UML faculty, and to support the entrepreneurial culture and programs at the university. The Executive Director is responsible for primary oversight and management of the Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) and New Venture Development (NVD). This position will provide leadership and develop programs to align the strategy and activities of these two groups for the benefit of the faculty, the university and the local ecosystem.

Postdoctoral Research Associate - Chemical Engineering 497805 Chemical Engineering
The successful applicant will work on a project investigating the waste inhibitory metabolites of Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells, and improving productivity. The position will be a core staff of a federally funded project with a few industry collaborators, leading biopharmaceutical companies. The research will apply proteomics, transcriptomics, and metabolic flux analysis to investigate corresponding metabolic pathways and metabolites of industrial CHO cell lines. The initial appointment will be for ONE year with a possibility of renewal based on productivity and performance and the availability of funding.
