Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Equal Opportunity and Outreach and Diversity and Inclusion (“EOO DI”), the EOO Intake Coordinator provides administrative support to the AVC and Director of EOO & DI for ongoing activities. The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for a wide variety of administrative support duties; including greeting visitors, answering phones, responding to inquiries, calendar scheduling, coordinating travel, maintaining internal records/databases, updating content on the website, overseeing the budget, preparing reports, and assisting with special projects and programs.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Facilities Operations and Services (O&S) and serves as the primary building and maintenance liaison for the SAAB Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center (ETIC). In addition, this position coordinates a range of maintenance and service support activity for laboratory and research spaces, and facilitates the lab equipment request program across the campus. The ETIC building houses a nanofabrication cleanroom and other types of labs such as characterization, wet and dry chemistry; mechanical properties testing; nanomedicine; and plastics research.
This position is responsible for coordinating and reviewing Facilities Management maintenance and service activities in the ETIC Building, and will liaison with the technical staff, to ensure the physical plant supports the scientific mission of the university.

Manages the daily office operations, including the status of the investigations and provides guidance and support to the Equal Opportunity and Outreach personnel in all the equal opportunity matters, including but not limited to civil rights, Title IX, ADA /504. Under the guidance and leadership of the Associate Vice Chancellor, provide assistance, advice, and counsel to the university’s community regarding civility, equal opportunity, Title IX, diversity and inclusion matters, and reviews the office’s policies and procedures to ensure they are current and based on best practices. In collaboration with the Associate Vice Chancellor develops and delivers equal opportunity and diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives to provide information and education to the community and to enhance the employees and students’ knowledge and understanding in these areas to assist the university in fostering an environment that is welcoming, respectful and safe for all. HEROES is a unique collaborative research and development center between UMass Lowell and the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC). HEROES drives interdisciplinary technological development for improved protection, sustainability and effectiveness of the American warfighters. This initiative is located on campus where UMass Lowell faculty and students and DEVCOM SC scientists and engineers work side by side and share laboratory space. HEROES Initiative supports numerous projects involving over 70 faculty members from colleges of sciences, health sciences, engineering, school of business. HEROES projects are organized in six major thrust areas: unmanned aerial systems, thermal. Chem/bio/ FR protection, flexible electronics & power, human augmentation /exoskeleton research, sensors for chemicals & food pathogens, and nutritional intervention.
The HEROES project facilitator will help faculty in meeting the program objectives by ensuring coordination with various stakeholders. The project facilitator will coordinate activities with collaborators from the industry, track progress and facilitate the team in seeking out opportunities for the continuation of the project. The HEROES project facilitator will also assist faculty members and the HEROES team in proposal development to fund the subsequent phase of the project.
