General Summary of Position:

The Digital Media program at UMass Lowell is seeking an adjunct faculty to instruct a section of DMGD.3500 Topics in Digital Media course during the fall 2023 semester. The course will introduce students to the fundamentals of digital compositing using NUKE software and prepare them to create visual images for movies and television. 

A candidate should have or be pursuing a Master’s degree in the relevant field, or must at least have an undergraduate degree with a minimum of one year of demonstrated relevant professional experience in the VFX field, digital compositing, and /or other relevant experience. Significant experience working with NUKE is required.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Applicant should have or be pursuing a Master’s degree in visual media arts, communications, filmmaking, media studies, or another relevant field. Candidates with an undergraduate degree who demonstrate relevant professional experience will be considered
  • One-year of college-level teaching experience and/or significant professional experience
  • Proficiency working with NUKE software
  • Professional experience in VFX and compositing and other relevant experience

 Additional Considerations: 

  • Evidence that the candidate has already taught courses in the relevant field

This is a part-time, non-benefited, Union of Adjunct Faculty, Local 1596, UAW position.
