General Summary of Position:

The Director, Corporate Education Strategic Academic Partnerships is the primary strategic account manager for major CAP / SAP partners with lead responsibility for account planning and performance for lead partners, ongoing identification of emerging academic programming & workforce development opportunities across partner base and advocacy & visibility of lead academic partners across UMass Lowell campus (i.e., “connect the dots”).  Core role focused on the identification, development, expansion and overall management of corporate academic partnerships with a focus on maximizing enrollments, revenue, profit and strategic positioning for UMass Lowell’s full portfolio of for-credit and non-credit academic offerings.  Expectation of 75% external focus and 25% internal UMass Lowell focus.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Master’s degree and 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in corporate academic partnerships in higher education or related field, or bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate academic partnerships in higher education or related field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations required
  • Strong process management and data analysis skills including detail orientation, organizational skills, data interpretation and the ability to understand the big picture required
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, presentation and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and / or other CRM desired
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate / collaborate across various internal and external organization
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management in corporate, academic, non-profit and public settings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record

Additional Considerations:

  • Must be a self-motivated and driven individual
  • Ability to project a professional departmental image when interacting with others in person, or by e-mail or telephone
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the ability to plan and organize with exceptional attention to detail
  • Flexibility to travel, the majority of which will be regional in scope
  • Weekend and evening work will occasionally be necessary

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This is an SEIU 888 Professional Union position, Grade P21.
