General Summary of Position:

The Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking applications for a part-time, non-benefited and non-union Administrative/Office Assistant to provide administrative and office support.

Some of the departmental administrative support duties include:

  • Creating and modifying documents using Microsoft Word and Excel, and using SIS tools, mail-merge and other PC software
  • Setting up and coordinating meetings, conferences, luncheons, and transportation for guests, visitors, and job candidates
  • General administrative tasks in support of the Dean’s office
  • Maintaining and ordering office supplies through the university procurement system
  • Budgeting and bookkeeping activities
  • Processing faculty travel and reimbursement requests
  • Preparing necessary paperwork required for hiring in coordination with UML's Human Resources and Equal Opportunity and Outreach offices
  • Preparing and maintaining ePAFs (contracts)
  • Collecting and maintaining syllabi and adjunct CVs per AACSB standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Maintain an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years’ office experience; or Associate’s degree with 5-7 years’ office experience; or High school diploma or equivalent with 7-10 years' office experience
  • Time management, planning, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thrives in a dynamic task environment, including flexibility and creative problem solving
  • Motivated to complete work in a timely fashion, including meeting operational and reporting requirements in advance of deadlines
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and vendors, locally and globally
  • Experience maintaining confidential information

This is a temporary, part-time, non-benefited, non-unit position.
