General Summary of Position:

The Employment Systems Specialist works in partnership with the Director of Talent Management & Employee Relations & the Employment Services team on a wide range of employment functions, diverse and complex in scope.  This position provides overall recruitment and staffing support for the university, including onboarding new hires, and troubleshooting/resolving system issues with our background check vendor, applicant tracking system, and HR system.  The position will deliver solutions and services that support employment processes, data solutions, and applicant tracking system support, as well as provide end-user support, systems troubleshooting and be responsible for data integrity and auditing. The position will also advise and collaborate on future system enhancements and design through assessment, configuration, implementation, rollout, and administration of new user features. The ideal candidates should be service-oriented, empathetic and eager to learn and grow as an HR professional.

The specialist is expected to demonstrate exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with team members, faculty, students, staff, and all customers in order to understand those units and their HR needs, while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information with tact and discretion. Possibilities for remote/hybrid work available.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible human resources and/or recruitment/employment experience **
  • 2 to 3 years experience recruiting and utilizing an online Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • 2 to 3 years ATS configuration and reporting experience

**Will consider candidates with HS Diploma or GED/equivalent and 7 or more years of directly related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in human resources, organizational behavioral sciences or related field
  • Human Resources experience in a higher education or government setting
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
