General Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for assisting the Dean and the Associate Deans primarily in the daily operations of Manning School of Business graduate programs in addition to activities related to undergraduate programs as needed.

Job Duties:

Program Management, Operations, and Administration:

  • Collaborates with the Dean, Associate Deans, Manning School of Business Department Chairs, and Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) to oversee the academic program and ensure quality student support services.
  • Works collaboratively with Manning School of Business academic departments and GPS to strategically align and scale online programs and support student success.
  • Works in oversight role and directly as needed with external graduate school partner organizations.
  • Identifies and implements key initiatives to increase program performance in targeted areas such as rankings and revenue generation.
  • Liaises with faculty and academic departments in support of program quality, curriculum, and student experience.
  • Identifies and drives collaboration opportunities across programs and units, with the School and the University.
  • Serves on University councils, committees, work groups, and other bodies, as related to graduate and/or undergraduate programs.

Management of Business Office Team:

  • Oversees project management of high-impact initiatives from conception to fruition in a timely and effective manner.
  • Manages a team of support staff who are responsible for the day-to-day operations of graduate programs, including orientation, academic programming, monitoring student academic progress, faculty support, etc.
  • Manages implementation and oversight of graduate student co-curricular activities.
  • Oversees and provides direction as needed for special student celebrations and events such as the Graduate Hooding Ceremony, Beta Gamma Sigma, Convocation, and related events.
  • Oversees strategy for graduate student academic advising, academic progress monitoring, student records, graduate assistant assignments and monitoring, honor code enforcement, and graduation analysis.
  • Facilitates course scheduling to optimize resource utilization, program quality, and student satisfaction.
  • Works with University marketing & communications professionals to promote Manning programs.
  • Ensures program website is correct and representative of current degree programs and related content.

Student Support Services:

  • Serves as a resource and referral source for students seeking various types of assistance.
  • Processes suspension appeals
  • Processes graduate and undergraduate SAP Financial Aid forms
  • Oversee and approve grade changes
  • Provides support for assessment of undergraduate and graduate programs accreditation
  • Oversees rankings processes and submissions. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Education:

  • MBA or master’s degree in higher education leadership or similar area

Experience:

  • Must have at least 5 years of related experience

Preferred experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in graduate program oversight at an AACSB accredited institution or 10+years in higher education administration, including a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.

Skills:

  • Skills in the development, implementation, and execution of programs
  • Excellent verbal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds
