General Summary of Position:

The Biomedical Engineering Department is seeking a financial coordinator who will report to the Chair of the Biomedical Engineering Department, Bryan Buchholz, PhD., and Professor Laura Punnett, Director of CPH-NEW.

This position is to be filled as soon as possible.  The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight of all financial aspects of grants and contracts within the Biomedical Engineering Department, of which the major ones currently are CAPCaT, RADx, and CPH-NEW.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience as a Project Administrator or comparable position with financial management duties, preferably in an academic or non-profit research environment; OR Associates degree and 7-10 years of directly related experience (as above)
  • Demonstrated familiarity with financial management software applications
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Evidence of success in project management: well-organized, able to multitask, able to work independently with good problem-solving and analytic skills; flexibility and ability to prioritize; ability to collaborate with diverse individuals in a highly professional manner
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Windows-based computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe Acrobat, and e-mail

Additional Considerations:

  • Strong writing skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills across various levels

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in PeopleSoft Summit is strongly desired; training is available if needed
• Preparation of project budgets in support of new grant-writing

This is a Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit position, Grade P16.

This position is contingent upon funding and is part-time, benefited (18.75 hours/week).
