General Summary of Position:

This being an internal opportunity, only current UML Employees, irrespective of Bargaining units are eligible to apply for this position.

The Assistant AD - Events & Operations is responsible for the event management of Intercollegiate events including communication, setup & oversight including safety protocols, equipment, spectator experience and NCAA regulations. Oversight of scheduling for all Athletic Facilities including external users.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Responsible for scheduling of Athletic Department facilities including practices, games and external users. Hires, schedules and trains Costello Athletic Center student staff, including event personnel, and building supervisors.
  2. Responsible for oversight and coordination of Event Management for Intercollegiate Events.
  3. Responsible for contracts, scheduling and logistical support for external users of Athletic Facilities.
  4. Serves as championship director of America East & NCAA events hosted by UMass Lowell.
  5. Responsible for planning and coordination of external contractors for Athletic Facilities equipment.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

  • Three to Five years relevant experience within a Division I athletics program

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, coaches, staff and alumni

Additional Considerations:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with departmental and university staff, with vendors, and with the general public
  • Previous experience working with sports programs/teams is preferable
