General Summary of Position:

BOSTON BASED - The Research Coordinator/Interviewer position is a 1 year full-time position with the possibility of renewal based on continued funding and job performance. This position will support recruitment and data collection for the Boston Puerto Rican Health Study, a longitudinal follow-up study of at least 550 participants. The Research Coordinator/Interviewer will conduct comprehensive health and diet interviews with study participants, in English and/or Spanish, participate in contacting, recruiting and scheduling study participants for interviews, procedures and follow-up questions, and assist with scheduling and coordinating research procedures for participants at Boston research facilities. S/he will also assist with project-related administrative work. The Research Coordinator/Interviewer must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

This position is primarily based in Boston, with frequent travel between Tufts Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and participants’ homes, and travel 2-4 times per month to the UMass Lowell campus.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Associates degree in health related field or relevant area (or HS diploma/GED/equivalent and 3- 5 years related experience)
  • 1-2 years of experience in an academic, hospital or community research setting
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, both oral and written
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in health related field or relevant area
  • Experience with field work and work in health or nutrition-related research preferred
  • Experience working with diverse populations preferred

 Special Instructions to Applicants:

**Frequent travel between the UML campus, in Lowell, MA and data collection sites in Boston, MA. Must have regular and reliable access to a car.

This position is contingent upon funding.

This is a Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) Bargaining Unit position, Grade P13.

This position is contingent upon funding and is initially for 1 year as a full-time position with the possibility of renewal based on continued funding and job performance.
