All members of the campus community must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or obtain an approved exemption on medical or religious grounds. Vaccination information must be submitted through the university’s secure vaccination portal and exemptions may be requested through the university’s EOO offices. While face coverings are optional, every campus member is still expected to conduct daily symptom checks and to stay home if symptomatic. General Summary of Position:

The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks part-time Adjunct Instructors to teach two sections of Spanish 1 and Culture starting September 1st, 2022, and also to develop a pool of applicants for openings as they arise.

Under the guidance of the Spanish program coordinator, the ideal candidate will enhance the student's learning experience by integrating a variety of methods and strategies into the teaching process and maintaining a student learning-centered environment. The University of Massachusetts Lowell is committed to increasing diversity in its faculty, staff, and student populations, as well as curriculum and support programs, while promoting an inclusive environment. The Department of World Languages and Cultures seeks candidates who can contribute to that goal. 

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • M.A. degree or above in Spanish in hand
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English required
  • Extensive teaching experience at the college level in lower-division courses using communicative approach in the classroom

This is a part-time, non-benefited, Union of Adjunct Faculty, Local 1596, UAW position.
