Lab Manager - Biological Sciences (Temporary)

General Summary of Position:

Assist teaching assistants and faculty in various laboratory courses; ordering chemicals and lab ware; preparation of laboratory solutions; managing teaching assistants. Managing service contracts with vendors for all large instruments; coordinating servicing for these instruments; repair of broken equipment; removal of obsolete equipment; training of students and faculty to use this equipment.  Assist new faculty members in their purchase and installation of new equipment.  Manage and work with Chairperson of Biology to find space in the department.  Assist in ordering and installation of equipment, and setup of laboratories for new faculty. Train them in departmental/university procedures, safety and otherwise.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or related science or engineering field
  • Three years’ experience in a laboratory setting

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This is a temporary, part-time, non-benefited, non-unit position.
