General Summary of Position:

The Operations Manager will be part of the leadership team for the Parking and Transportation Office. The department prides itself on delivering a customer focused service, that focuses on teambuilding and collaboration to best utilize the resources available to provide the most effective service.  They will assist the Director and Assistant Director in the oversight and leadership of the department, assisting with operational needs, reporting, and developing training.  The operation manager will need to manage and supervise a dynamic parking staff, comprised of both students and non-students, and assist with the supervision of the transportation staff.  They will be responsible for the operational oversight and management of the fleet, including developing and implementing policies based on industry best practices for fleet management, technology utilization, and equipment.  They will be responsible for working with other offices on campus, including sustainability and UCAPS, to help improve parking management, TDM programming, and technology utilization.  They will assist with gathering and writing reports, to allow the Director and Assistant Director to make data driven decision about service needs and assisting with regulatory reporting that is required by the university and government agencies.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of related experience.  Will consider candidates with High School diploma or GED/equivalent and 3-5 years’ experience in transportations industry, Valid Drivers License with clean driving history
  • CDL with passenger endorsement required
  • Past experience with implementing CDL training within a transportation industry
  • Understanding of CDL requirements and laws for passenger vehicles

 Additional Considerations:

  • Experience with using PeopleSoft
  • Experience with ticket-track software
  • CPR/First Aid certified (or ability to get CPR/First Aid certified
  • Knowledge of Timeforge
  • Past experience working in Higher Education Transportation
