General Summary of Position:

This being an internal opportunity, only current UML Employees, irrespective of Bargaining units are eligible to apply for this position.

The Project Research Assistant position is a full time, one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on continued funding and job performance. Under the supervision of the PI, the Project Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting in planning, managing, and conducting the activities of several research projects. The first project aims to conduct a community assessment of the City of Lawrence to inform an age-friendly action plan. The second project is to better understand dietary quality and the food environment of Cambodian Americans living in the Greater Lowell Area. The third project is to assist with the development of a dietary and physical activity intervention to improve bone health among Caribbean adults in the City of Lawrence. The Project Research Assistant will lead communication with the study team and with community partners to ensure proper and timely conduct of the project.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Master’s in Public Health
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis
  • Skills: Fluency in oral and written English
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, presentation and facilitation
  • Experience working with local community administrators and community members  

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience with data analysis is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working on a research project
