General Summary of Position:

This being an internal opportunity, only current UML Employees, irrespective of Bargaining units are eligible to apply for this position.

The Office of Industry Partnerships and Economic Development provides a centralized and coordinated structure for engagements with industry across the UML community.  The Technical Program manager will focus on industry engagements with UML that are related to the Fabric Discovery Center, Manufacturing USA initiatives, as well as other government funded programs.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Master’s in Material Science, Textile Science or related field
  •  Five or more years’ research and development experience working in a company within the defense industry or the technical fiber/textile industry
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Proven track record in managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Familiarity with government grants and proposals
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Additional Considerations:

  • Previous business development experience preferred
  • Independent and self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit
