General Summary of Position:

The Business Continuity Coordinator (part-time/non-benefited) has responsibilities for the facilitation and coordination for development, updating, and maintaining the university’s comprehensive business continuity (B.C.) program and associated emergency preparedness and response programs.  Reporting to the Director of Life Safety & Emergency Preparedness who directs and guides work activity, the Business Continuity Coordinator assists the Director through evaluating and planning for the university to respond effectively to and manage recovery from  major emergencies and disasters.    Is responsible for the daily supervision, scheduling and oversite of associated assigned workers, students, and vendors recognized within program structure.  This position supports the university’s Emergency Response Teams and Emergency Operations Center (EOC). 

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Associate Degree (Bachelor preferred) in area related to emergency management, enterprise risk management, regional planning, criminal justice, health or other related field
  • 4 years’ experience in Business Continuity Planning or 2 years’ experience with a Bachelor degree in a related field  Note: Within a higher education agency preferred
  • FEMA, MEMA coursework focused on Business Continuity
  • Ability to maintain confidential information consistent with Laws, regulations, and University policies
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language
  • State-issued drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in higher education
